John French was a student of psychology from spring of 1935 to spring of 1937, then a professor of psychology from fall 1940 to spring 1942. He was also a professor at the University of Michigan, who posted an obituary upon his passing. He may be best known for his collaboration with Bertram Raven on French and Raven's five bases of power in 1959.
