Sydney Carter was a student from 1933 to 1935. He had a focus in drama, creative writing, and english literature, and completed his senior examinations, but the marks weren't satisfactory. He had examiners from Harvard and George Washington University that felt he didn't have a full grasp on the history of english literature. Many notes share that he wouldn't have made a good writer and wasn't a promising student.
He attended Yale for two years and Rollins college for a year before attending BMC. He wrote to the college after leaving from the Associated Actors Theatre Inc. in New York, so he did continue to work in theater and drama productions. He shared playwrights with Bob Wunsch and some of his plays were produced, according to letters he shared with the faculty.
