Ruth Miller was a student from 1942 to the 1944 Summer Music Institute. Mary Emma Harris wrote a short bio of Ruth with the BMC Project interviews, sharing that she "studied dance with Elsa Kahl at Black Mountain College. In New York, she studied with Doris Humphrey and José Limón and, in 1949, she became a principal dancer with the Limón Company. From 1972 to 1978, she was director of the Company. In 1958, Currier formed her own dance company, while continuing to dance with Limón. Miller Currier also taught at Juilliard’s Dance Division."
