Mark Dreier was a child of the Dreiers and passed away while at the college in 1941. (1932-1941)

The Quiet House at Black Mountain College was constructed in fall 1942 as a memorial to Mark. Designed as a tranquil and reflective space, the Quiet House proved inspirational to many of the school’s students and teachers.
