Jean Brewton

Jean Brewton was a student at Stephen Lee High School, an African-American school in Asheville. Application includes several brochures from the Saint Matthias Church of Asheville. She traveled to BMC for day classes in weaving for the summer of 1955.

She also attended McDowell college and transferred to Temple University. After college, she worked for the Navy Yard for about 37 years. Her obituary notes her love for volunteering, devotion to her church, and work at the Germantown Christian Assembly’s Deaf Ministry.
