German-American music scholar, Erwin Bodky, was known as a child prodigy on the piano by the age of 12. His his later music education included degrees from the Preussiche Hochschule für Musik and the Scharwenka Conservatory in Berlin.

There are many great resources online about Bodky's music, scholarly research, and personal life. At Black Mountain College, Bodky was guest faculty in music for the 1945, 1947, 1948, and 1949 summer sessions.
