Berta Rudofsky was a guest for the 1944 Summer Art Institute, assisting her husband Bernard with a clothing history course. She was guest faculty for the 1945 Summer Art Institute.
Berta worked with her husband Bernard as an editor, translator, manager, and model to his designs. She inspired and produced many of his well-known works, like the Bernardo Sandals, which were published in the 1960s in VOGUE and worn by celebrities at the time, including Jackie Kennedy.
The 1945 Summer Art Institute bulletin shared her biography as "Designer / Studied: University of Vienna / At present assistant to her architect-designer husband, Bernard Rudofsky. Taught at BMC Art Institute 1944. At BMC Second Art Institute, July 2-28, will give a course in LEATHER WORK.
Workshop course. Instruction in working technique of hard and soft leather, except surface treatment and ornamentation. Limited equipment. Instruction by appointment."
